Save the Date to Recycle Electronics
Drop off your unwanted electronics and cords, have a chance to win a flat screen TV, and help a good cause with one stop!
It’s the second Big E-Vent at Hollywood Storage Center on Saturday, March 12 from 9 am to 4 pm, where you can responsibly get rid of old televisions, computer, monitors, laptops, MP3 players, cords, or anything else that plugs into the wall. Everyone who participates will be entered into a drawing to win a flat screen television.
All items will be recycled by All Green Electronics Recycling in accordance with their strict ZERO landfill policy, and nothing will be sent overseas for processing. All Green has been designated as an e-Steward by the non-profit environmental watchdog Basil Action Network. This award is given to North American electronics recyclers who have been qualified as upholding the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility.
Procceds benefit Pink Paws Rescue & Adoption of Thousand Oaks. Pink Paws rescues cats and kittens in Eastern Ventura County and finds them safe places to live. For more information, visit www.pinkpawsrescueandadoption.org.

Free Photos with Santa!
Free photos with Santa is back! Join us on December 11, 18 & 19 for free professional holiday pictures with your kids, sports teams, and even pets. Complimentary cocoa, cookis, and candy canes will be served.
Throughout the month, please donate new, unwrapped toys and books to benefit the Thousand Oaks-based charity The Children Come First, assisting foster children in our community. Donations will be accepted seven days a week from 8:30 am to 6 pm.
The Children Come First is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the health and well being of children who are at risk, and/or in temporary foster care placement. More Than 300 Participate in The Big E-Vent
More than 25,000 pounds of electronic waste was recycled during our Big E-Vent on Saturday, November 13, thanks to more than 300 people who dropped off items for responsible recycling!
And, due to the huge success of the E-Vent, $1,251.15 was donated to the Talbert Family Foundation for the family of Andreas Knickman.
Everyone who dropped off e-waste was entered into a drawing for a flat screen TV. Beverly and William Curtiss won the prize!

Here’s a FREE, easy, and responsible way to finally clean out your unwanted electronics.

Join Bike Ride for 14-Year-Old Cancer Patient
Riders are needed for the 2nd annual Mike Nosco Memorial Bicycle Ride to benefit Andreas Knickman. The 81-mile ride through the Santa Monica Mountains and Coastline takes place Wednesday, Nov 3, 2010. Your $100 donation includes a t-shirt, support along the course, and refreshments at the end of the day. All donations will go to the family of Newbury Park High School student Andreas Knickman, age 14, who is in Children’s Hospital as he continues to battle with cancer.

Free Electronics Recycling at Hollywood Storage
Hollywood Storage Center is proud to announce its partnership with All Green Electronics Recycling of Orange County. Starting today, local residents may drop off any obsolete, unwanted electronics at Hollywood Storage seven days a week from 8:30 am to 6 pm.
All Green is a designated e-steward through the Basel Action Network (BAN) which means none of the electronic equipment or its hazardous materials end up in landfills. All Green never ships unprocessed material outside of North America, and they do not send e-waste to developing nations for dumping.
As an official e-Recycle Permanent Drop Off Location, Hollywood Storage can accept all electronics, cables and wires. For recycling questions, contact All Green directly at (800) 780-0347 or visit www.allgreenrecycling.com.
NPHS Party & Prom Dress Drive This Week!
Purchasing expensive party dresses for high school events is a luxury for many families, so here is a great way to help!
If you have any age-appropriate formal or cocktail dresses just hanging in your closet, you can donate them to Newbury Park High School for its Homecoming/Prom/Pary Dress Collection and Exchange for all current NPHS students. Shoes to coordinate with the dresses, nice costume jewlery, and small purses/clutches/evening handbags will also be accepted. The dresses and accessories will be available to NPHS students for all upcoming high school dances and Prom.
Please drop off donations this Thursday, September 16th and Friday, September 17th from 8:30 am – 10:30 am right outside the Main Office at Newbury Park High School. Hollywood Storage Center is proud to sponsor the 24th annual Newbury Park Rotary Oktoberfest, Sept. 24-25 at the Commemorative Air Force Museum (Camarillo Airport, 455 Aviation Drive, Camarillo.
Highlights of the Bavarian Harvest Celebration include German music and dancers, a beer-tasting pavilion with California and German brews, wine tasting, Bavarian contests and classic German cars. Festival goers will also enjoy aircraft flybys, touchdowns and takeoffs throughout the weekend, have photos taken inside aircraft cockpits, spend time viewing World War II memorabilia and airplanes and even sign up for spins in some of the museum’s restored SNJ-5 Texan and PT-19A aircraft. Since its inception, the Rotary Club of Newbury Park’s Oktoberfest has raised more than $430,000 for local charities. Oktoberfest hours are 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., both days. Admission is $10 for adults; kids under 12 are free. Admission is free for active duty military with I.D. Tickets can be purchased online at a discount.

Donate Used Cell Phones
Beginning this month, bring your used cell phones to Hollywood Storage Center. They will be donated to Cell Phones for Soldiers, a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization that recycles the phones and uses the money to buy prepaid calling cards for U.S. troops stationed overseas. The calling cards help our soldiers stay connected with their families.
Cell Phones for Soldiers was founded by teenagers Robbie and Brittany Berqquist from Norwell, Mass. They were inspired to help soldiers phone home when they discovered it costs $7 to $8 per minute to call the U.S. from Iraq. Unused cell phone donations will be accepted seven days a week from 8:30 am to 6 pm, and donation receipts are available. Cell Phones for Soldiers supports all branches of the military.
